Here's what we've actually built - not just pretty renders. Each project taught us something new, and yeah, there were challenges along the way.
We've been lucky enough to work on some pretty diverse stuff over the years. From turning a century-old warehouse into modern lofts to designing net-zero homes that actually stay within budget. These aren't just our favorite projects - they're the ones where clients became friends and buildings became landmarks.
West Vancouver, BC
This one's special. The clients wanted floor-to-ceiling windows for those mountain views, but we had to figure out how to keep heating costs down. Ended up using triple-glazed European windows and a geothermal system that reduced energy use by 68%. The kids' playroom doubles as a passive solar collector in winter - parents didn't expect that bonus.
Vancouver, BC
Built in 1912, this old warehouse was basically falling apart when we got the call. The city's heritage committee wanted to preserve the brick facade and timber beams, but the interior was a mess. Took us 18 months and a lot of creative engineering to turn it into 12 loft units.
We kept every original beam we could salvage - even the ones with old railway stamps. The exposed brick tells stories if you look close enough. Added modern HVAC hidden in the original ductwork channels, so you get historical charm without freezing in February.
Richmond, BC
A tech startup wanted something different from the usual corporate box. We gave them flexible spaces that can be reconfigured in about 20 minutes. The meeting rooms have walls that actually slide - sounds simple, but the acoustics had to be perfect.
North Vancouver, BC
Our first true net-zero project. The homeowners tracked their first year - they actually generated 103% of the energy they used. Winter heating? Covered by sun and ground heat. It's possible, just takes careful planning and a client who trusts the process.
Vancouver, BC
Working with the community on this was intense but rewarding. We held 8 public consultations before finalizing designs. The result? A space that's actually used daily, not just sitting empty like some community centers do.
Downtown Vancouver, BC
An old church becoming a medical clinic sounds weird until you see it. The high ceilings and natural light actually make it feel less clinical, which patients love. We kept the stained glass windows and original woodwork - just added modern HVAC, proper medical-grade facilities, and accessibility features throughout.
We're always up for a challenge. Whether it's a tricky renovation, a ground-up build, or something nobody's tried before - let's talk about it over coffee.
We've got a few exciting builds wrapping up this year. A mixed-use development in Surrey, a passive house in Whistler, and a restaurant renovation in Gastown. Check back soon or follow our Instagram for progress updates.
